To say I have been a little behind on my blogging game would be an understatement. And to say that I was obsessed with these two and this engagement session would also be an understatement. So here I am, sharing some of this epic session on the blog two months later. But they are too special not to share!
When Lauren sent me an Instagram DM about doing engagement photos for her a few months prior, she told me she was getting ready to go to Mexico and would get back to me when they returned. At that point we started following each other, and I was immediately intrigued by her liveliness and love for travel, her pups, and her fiance. I knew we were going to have a great time when it came to working together–and I wasn’t wrong!
I absolutely LOVE it when my couples put lots of time and effort into planning their engagement photos. I mean, they are a BIG deal and you ultimately only end up getting to to this one time! Lauren had three outfits in mind so we strategically worked the session around fitting all of them in before we lost daylight. It was a total success and I think they both looked perfect in every “look”. I especially loved her fairy tale inspired outfit, flower crown and all. 🙂 Any time my brides want to do something different that expresses who they are, I am ALWAYS down.
Don’t get me wrong, you know my love for weddings. But the best part about engagement photos is you get to have fun, relax, TAKE YOUR TIME, and even wear multiple outfits. And since those outfits aren’t a tux and a wedding gown, we can really have some care-free FUN . You can play around with your fiance, laugh, dance, and get a little bit of physical activity in (sorry guys, I am usually going to have you do all of the lifting, hehe!) and you don’t have to worry about getting back to your guests at the reception. I really love making engagement sessions a memorable EXPERIENCE that my couples will cherish and remember exactly how they felt in that very moment with the love of their life in their arms. Annnndd now is when I start to tear up with my fingers still on the keyboard as I type about this.
Anyway, I had such a fun time with Lauren and Blake hearing the story of how they met, chatting about being dog obsessed, and playing around in the water and sand. And let’s state the obvious, I loved shooting this gorgeous couple at my favorite location. Lauren has amazing taste (I even got a little sneak peek of her wedding gown) and just FREAKIN WAITTTT until you see their wedding venue!!! I am so honored to be a part of this story and to photograph their wedding next fall in Charleston, SC. Let the countdown begin!! xoxo
