Hayley & Jason’s Brunch Wedding | 21 Main, Myrtle Beach SC

This was such a special and fun wedding day for me to capture. Because as I mentioned in Hayley & Jason’s Engagement Session blog, I have known Hayley since we were little girls. Our moms have been best friends for years, so we spent a lot of time together growing up and I got to know a lot of her family and friends. My parents were even there as wedding guests which was so fun! But it had been YEARS since I had seen some of that family, so it was so awesome to reconnect with them on Hayley’s big day after all this time. It was such a blast to reminisce on all those funny times, and Hayley even requested a Spice Girls song from her DJ in honor of the days when we were OBSESSED with them. Too funny. 🙂

Hayley and Jason planned for an intimate wedding — a Sunday brunch at 21 Main in Myrtle Beach, SC. They chose a beautiful color palate of blushes, rose gold, gold, and soft greenery. Everything went to nicely together from the rose gold sequin table cloth accents, to the blush undertone of Hayley’s Essence of Australia wedding gown! When I arrived with my second shooter, Kelsey, Hayley and her girls were finishing up hair and makeup in the bridal suite. Something fun about the “getting ready” part of the day was that Hayley’s cousin, Samantha, was her Maid of Honor and also happens to be an amazing makeup artist! She did such a fabulous job making all of the women of the day look gorgeous.

Before the ceremony began, Hayley and Jason individually opened the gifts they had gotten each other. Hayley got Jason a watch, and Jason got Hayley a beautiful rose gold bracelet that matched her bridal earrings. They both immediately put their gifts on and wore them for the wedding day. 🙂 Their outdoor ceremony was sweet, officiated by a family friend, and luckily it was shaded even though it was outdoors. This was super helpful in the August heat! When Hayley’s dad saw her for the first time just before walking her down the isle, he was overcome with tears. This wasn’t surprising considering Hayley is his only daughter and he cherishes her so very much. You can see how emotional this moment was from the pictures below, but you can also see Hayley looking over and telling him to pull it together so that she could keep her makeup dry, too! It was a super sweet and laughable moment.

Hayley and Jason said their vows, exchanged rings, kissed for the first time as husband and wife, and excited the ceremony as their guests blew bubbles making for some cute photos. The rest of the afternoon consisted of brunch cocktails, DELICIOUS food, heartfelt speeches from the best man, maid of honor, and father of the bride, and some breaking it down on the dance floor. It was my first time photographing a brunch wedding, so I have to say it felt really awesome getting to drive home while it was still light outside! I was so honored to be there for this life long friend of mine, and I am so excited for her and Jason as they begin their new life together as husband and wife! Thank you so much for having me, you two! Wishing you all the love and happiness. xo
