Reagan & Rob’s Sunset Picnic Engagement Session

This right here is what engagement session DREAMS are made of. When Reagan first reached out to me about an engagement session for her and Rob, I was already thrilled because they were planning on coming to Wilmington for the evening from Durham. I love shooting my couples anywhere, but any time they want to make a trip of it and come to the coast, I get even more pumped!!

After booking, Reagan sent me a few inspiration photos for an idea she had about incorporating a picnic into their session. I was immediately on board and knew right then and there she was quite an ideal client! When brides and grooms but a lot of time and thought into their engagement photos, it means they are almost as excited as I am about shooting them! And I just know that it’s going to be a blast!!

Before our Sunday evening session, Reagan & Rob met me at one of my favorite beach restaurants in Carolina Beach. We enjoyed Coronas and chatted all about life, wedding plans, and so much more. I LOVE when I get to sit down with my clients and hang out for a bit before shooting. Because before I even took out my camera, I already knew that these two met in college at Oklahoma State, how Rob proposed to Reagan in their new home, how they had just moved to the RTP area for his job, their love for wine, and their big plans and vision for their intimate wedding. Forming those connections and friendships make the shooting experience that more sweet and special!

We arrived at Fort Fisher and set up for the first half of the session – the picnic. And oh, man was it the cutest thing EVER. Reagan had packed vibrant *and apparently delicious* fruits, striped paper straws, and a bottle of Pellegrino to set the scene. I was squealing with excitement the whole time over getting to shoot something so stinking fun– and how adorable these two are together.

The rest of the evening was a total dream from the gorgeous sunset to how much these two just loved being down by the beach for the evening. I was really sad when the session had ended and they had to get back in the car to head back to Durham. If only we could have nights like these all the time! But thankfully, we will get to have just as much fun at their Wrightsville Manor wedding next June! I CANNOT WAIT!

Until then, I’ll just continue swooning over this lovely session. Thank you so much Reagan + Rob for having me…I adore you two and cannot wait to be a part of your special day! xoxo
