This session is the perfect example of how portrait sessions don’t have to be overly fancy, planned, or posed. When Allie and I were planning this motherhood session for her and her three boys, we decided to keep it really simple and capture as much realness and personality as possible. It’s pretty obvious that she […]

I Understand My Mama Clients So Much More Now… Last year, we did our first professional family photo session when our son was almost 3 months old. I remember feeling so overwhelmed with getting myself and our family ready, especially with a tiny human! And this tiny human screamed in the car the whole way […]

I hoped and prayed that I would never be in a place where I’d be writing this blog post from the perspective of a first-hand experience. And it took me a long time to finally be at a place where I felt like I could sit down and start typing. But I knew how important […]

I know it can be so overwhelming to look at all of the things you “should” be doing when you first start off as a photographer. You also don’t always want to invest in tons of equipment, tools, and subscriptions until you are bringing in enough income to support that. I totally get it! But […]

This session will forever reign as one of my favorites! Haleigh and Cody were such a joy to work with, and the maternity gown she rented from an Etsy shop was to die for. I’m pretty sure we also got one of the most stunning October golden hours I have ever seen! I have since […]

One of the things I get the most questions about as a photographer is what everyone should wear! I get it; it’s hard enough getting yourself ready never mind an entire family and making sure it all goes well together. This is why I started offering both a closet collection and style consulting as a […]

This month’s Milestone Collection highlight is Meri-Ashlen + Alex! These two came all the way to Wilmington from Raleigh in the spring to shoot their maternity session. I absolutely loved how this mama was feeling so confident in her pregnancy that she wanted to change up her session with something a little different. I always […]

Gifts For Mom Under $50 Birth Stone Stacker Ring – Made by Mary – $34 I love these dainty little rings, perfect for the minimal mama who doesn’t tend to wear heavy jewelry. These can be extra sentimental — birth stones for her little one’s birthday, or anyone special to her! A friend of […]

When Shannon showed up looking radiant in this dress, my jaw dropped. At first, I was just in awe of how beautiful both she and the dress were, but then I realized the dress looked familiar. Shannon proceeded to tell me the story of how she found me in the first place — and it […]

MEET CHELSEA

In my 30 years on this earth, I have learned that life can be hard. Pregnancy is tough. The unknowns of birth are a little scary. Being a new mom can feel so isolating. But all of these things are simultaneously some of the most beautiful things we can experience. And community + support is EVERYTHING.

I've held many different roles throughout my adult life from fitness professional, to wedding photographer, to podcaster, to birth doula. Through it all, I've realized that I simply love helping people (a true ennegram 2). My heart is full when I can capture your joy, create connection, make you feel less alone, or celebrate your story.

wife. mama. photographer. educator. doula.

hey love!
